Herbie Hancock - Cantaloupe Island

One more "got to listen" piece of monumental jazz by Herbie on the piano, Freddie Hubbard trumpet, Joe Henderson tenor sax, Ron Carter bass and Tony Williams on drums. This video was recorded in 1987 and it's available on One Night with Blue Note DVD, an all-star compilation. You can also find the song on Empyrean Isles, album recorded in 1964.
Enjoy!

Perfect - 8 Gangsters Live

Relatively new reggae dancehall artist has righteous lyrics and a pretty good riddim.
He released his album Giddimani in 2006 and this is on it..anyway better listen.
The video has a short kind of interview too.

Boogie Down Productions - My Philosophy

Big tune released in 1988 on the album By All Means Necessary.
Enjoy!

Cannonball Adderley - Jive Samba 1963

Julian Edwin "Cannonball" Adderley playing the sax accompanied by Nat Adderley on the cornet, the multi talent Yusef Lateef on tenor sax, oboe and flute, Joe Zawinul playing the piano, Sam Jones on bass and Louis Hayes keeping it up on the drums. You can find this on Jazz Workshop Revisited.
Magnificent recording, too bad that those times won't come back.

Bob Andy Junior Kelly & Luciano - Create Our World Creator

Great tune by the old roots man Keith "Bob Andy" Anderson with the younger reggae singers and teachers Luciano and Junior Kelly.
"...Freedom is a state of mind we all can cultivate
Should we attempt, we might just find
We can destroy all hate..."

Jeru The Damaja - You Can't Stop The Prophet

Since today Jeru is in Timisoara city here's one of the greatest Hip Hop songs by him from the album The Sun Rises In The East released in 1994. He fights down Mr. Ignorance's army, "mainly Hatred, Jealousy and Envy.."...check the video for more.
Jah Bless and c'ya at the concert!

Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World

Louis Armstrong is definitely one of the greatest voices of the last century influencing that music era. Maybe he is most known for this song but he was a great trumpeter in the first place.
Respect, Jah Bless!

Richie Spice - Open the Doors

One of the greatest voices of reggae music after 2000 in my opinion, Richie Spice says "My responsibility is to use the talent that God gave me as an instrument to uplift people who are facing the struggle worldwide and let them feel happy in themselves, it is all about righteousness and endorsing the love of the people, good over evil and life over death"
This song appears on the In the Streets to Africa CD released in 2007.
Jah bless children!

De La Soul - Me, Myself and I

A song by one of the last bands from the D.A.I.S.Y. (da inner sound y'all) age, concept that they brought up. De La Soul is a Grammy Award-winning hip hop group that released their first album in 1989 - 3 Feet High and Rising.

Bobby Hutcherson Quartet

Quite a blue morning today in Timisoara City so here's a smooth piece of Bobby Hutcherson's Quartet to chill out to. I recommend for listening Bobby Hutcherson's 1975 album Montara.
Lay back and relax yourself!

Damian & Stephen Marley ft Capleton - It was written

Damian and Stephen Marley are sure keeping up their father's work helped by Capleton on this great reggae tune. Both Marley brothers have incredible voices, the lyrics are great and Capleton brings up the dance hall vibe. Surely the best song from Halfway Tree CD released in 2002.
Fiyah pon dem ignorant babylonians!

FU-Schinickens - True Fuschnick

Fu means For Unity and it's said that "schnickens" is a made up word standing for coalition. Anyways this guys have an amazing flow and you can find more of that on F.U. "Don't Take It Personal" released in 1992.

Mattafix - Living Darfur (unofficial video)

Very sad video i must say but this is called reality and we, the people made it like this by being ignorant and having self centered life point of view.
Mattafix delivers an uplifting vibe message to all the people that suffer because of Babylon's greediness.
Blessed be the people!

Madlib - Slim's Return

It is possible that the name Madlib doesn't ring a bell for you, it didn't for me months ago but after listening to his work I can surely put him among the most talented people that made music as time flew away.
The album's named Shades of Blue and has on it some great jazz songs recorded at Blue Note Records in the past. The CD came out in 2003 under the label of Blue Note Records.

BOB MARLEY - War / No more trouble (Live)

What can i say!?...The true music, a book inside of which you will take a look.
The song appears on two albums, Rasta Man Vibration released in 1976 and an album recorded live Babylon by Bus released in 1978.
Rest in peace Mr. Marley!

Benny Goodman Orchestra - Sing Sing Sing

The king of swing himself, Benny Goodman on clarinet with Gene Krupa madly kicking the shit out of those drums, Lionel Hampton as a percussionist and other musicians are trowing some energy towards you . This clip is actually part of "Hollywood Hotel" a 1937's movie.

Chi-ALi - Roadrunner

Chi-Ali is a 15 year old kid that used to spit true words on smooth beats back in 1992. He definitely sounds better than most of the stuff that gets out this days.
Find this on The Fabulous Chi-Ali CD released in 1992.
Bless people!

Guru and Donald Byrd - Loungin'

The sound of this joint here combined with Mr. G.U.R.U.'s words definitely make it for a classic in my collection. You can find this song on Jazzmatazz vol. 1, album that was released in 1993 and is the debut album in his solo career.
Kick back, relax, mellow out and just loungin..

Sound of the green ears yoo!
